SUMMARY:Undergraduate-led training session: Laser Cutting
DESCRIPTION:The laser cutter may only be used to create original content\, 
 meaning designs created by you. The Makerspace does not provide materials. 
 \n\n \n\n***You MUST complete the online quiz located in the Makerspace ELC 
 Course BEFORE attending an in-person training***\n\n \n\nThis training is 
 open to all UGA students with a valid UGA ID. Library accounts must be in 
 good standing. \n\n \n\nLearn how to engrave and cut materials like wood\, 
 fabric\, and acrylic with the Glowforge Pro HD laser cutter from an 
 undergraduate peer! Attendees will learn how to set up and run the laser 
 cutter safely. Training includes successfully completing self-paced online 
 quiz on the Makerspace ELC Course followed by an in-person training with 
 the laser cutter. The online quiz in ELC must be completed before the 
 in-person session. The in-person session takes about an hour. Previous 
 experience with a laser cutter is not required. Please note\, this training 
 does not cover file preparation or design elements with file creation. \n\n 
 \n\n\n\nAfter successful completion of both the online modules and 
 in-person training\, users may independently reserve and operate the 
 Glowforge Pro HD laser cutter. \n\n \n\nAfter registering for your 
 in-person session\, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to 
 the Makerspace ELC where you can take the Laser Cutter Quiz. If you don't 
 receive a confirmation email with the link to the modules\, please check 
 your Spam/Junk folder for a confirmation email from 'UGA Libraries 
 Calendar.' \n\n \n\nYou can also self enroll in the Makerspace ELC Course 
 at any point by going to the Makerspace website then selecting the Use the 
 Makerspace tile > Get Training > Makerspace eLC
