UGA students, faculty, and staff with a valid UGA ID who wish to use the laser cutter in the McBay Science Library Makerspace must first complete online modules and a hands-on session with the equipment. Please note the laser cutter may only be used to create original content, meaning designs created by you.

Previous experience with a laser cutter is not required and there are no costs for the training or to use the equipment. Users provide their own materials for the laser cutter. Library accounts must be in good standing.

You must complete the online modules prior to your in-person session. After successful completion of both the online modules and in-person training, you can independently reserve and operate the laser cutter.

After you register for your in-person session, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to the online modules. If you don't receive a confirmation email with the link to the modules, please check your Spam/Junk folder. The confirmation email will be from 'UGA Libraries Calendar.'
