Training session: Laser Cutting
UGA students, faculty, and staff who wish to use the laser cutter in the Science Library Makerspace must first complete online modules and a hands-on session. After completion of each, participants are certified to independently run the laser cutter.
In this hands-on session, participants will learn how to engrave and cut an item on the Dremel LC40 laser cutter. Before the session, all participants must complete online, self-paced modules - modules will be emailed after registration is completed. Previous experience with laser cutting is not required.
This training session is free and open to all UGA students, faculty, and staff with a valid UGA ID. Library accounts must be in good standing before attending the session.
Once you're registered, please look out for an email with a link to the required online learning modules. Modules must be completed before your in-person session. If you do not receive an email, check your junk mail or email makerspace@uga.edu.
We urge you to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Vaccinations are available at the UHC.
