Laser Cutter workshop

Laser Cutter workshop

In this 90-minute, project-based workshop, a participant works one-on-one with an instructor to learn how to safely operate the Dremel LC40 Laser Cutter. We'll go over the hardware and software of the laser cutter, discuss the file types that control the cut and engrave functions of the laser,  and talk about acceptable materials to use on the laser cutter. Part of this training includes watching videos before the session and a safety quiz.

Completion of this workshop is required to use the laser cutter at the Science Library Makerspace. After successful completion of the training, users are able to independently use the laser cutter during open lab times. Previous experience with laser cutters is not required.

This workshop is free and open to all UGA students, staff, and faculty with a valid UGA ID.
