Artist Lecture, Poppies: Women, War, Peace

On Monday, November 12 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. documentary photographer Lee Karen Stow will give a lecture focused on her exhibit, "Poppies: Women, War, Peace." The exhibit combines a portrait series of women whose lives have been affected by war, from World War I to the present, with a botanical series of the red ‘Flanders Fields’ poppy.

The lecture is co-sponsored by the Willson Center for Humanities and Arts, the Lucy Hargrett Draper Center and Archives for the Study of the Rights of Women in History and Law, and the UGA Institute for Women's Studies. A light reception will follow. "Poppies: Women, War, Peace" is on display in the Hargrett Library Gallery through December 14, 2018.
